Sleep is Crucial! Shark Week. Cravings.

03Aug12

I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night. Shark week is apparently getting ready to start, and since April, when my Dad died, I’ve been having these lovely little psychotic episodes right before I start. I was up until after 2am ranting and working things out, then until after 3am because I couldn’t sleep, and was woken by Hubby’s alarm & a particularly broken noisy garbage truck having seizures outside my open window. The results of all that being I felt like crap all day, didn’t go to CrossFit (we’ll go tomorrow morning as long as we can sleep well tonight), and I fought cravings for stuff I really don’t need to be eating with my goals of fitness and adjusting body composition.

Side note: I’m trying to be careful about my dairy intake – and I can already tell my nose is less drippy. So, I’m having my coffee black again.

After coffee, I had more bison balls w/ homemade ranch dip & baby kosher dills. Lunch was 5 scrambled eggs w/ sugar-free ketchup. Then I had frozen blueberries swimming in spicy coconut milk. & more coffee.

Really hoping I can sleep tonight. Not getting decent sleep really messes things up in the short-term, and over the long-term. Stupid cravings! I love Paleo for precisely it’s biological appropriateness and fixing hormone levels so I don’t usually have cravings to fight against. That, combined with shark week. Oy.

I think it’s wine o’clock! lol

  1. Funny I should read this just now. Same issue – not enough sleep, so I have had silly (and powerfull) cravings all day…. Thanks for sharing!

By the way – I guess you know you dont need to drink black coffee? Here is a great alternative I just found (I also have a runny nose issue..)
